SHOPPERS enjoyed “One Great Day” of retail therapy and helped raise over £1,300 for two children’s hospital charities.
Employees from across Parkgate Shopping joined hospital mascot Dr Ted and other shopping centres across the UK to take part in the country-wide, annual One Great Day charity drive and raised £657.50 each for Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity’s Children’s Appeal and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Activities on offer at Parkgate on the day included face painting, musical entertainment and the chance to see the famous Ghostbusters Cadillac.
Janet Drury, Parkgate centre manager said: “Our One Great Day event is something all the tenants look forward to because it’s a great opportunity for us to work together and to have some fun raising money for the children who are cared for locally at Rotherham Hospital and nationally by the NHS.”
We want to continue holding local authorities to account, attending court and council meetings, as well as providing breaking news, competitions and offers – but it costs money. Online advertising does not cover costs, therefore we feel the need to ask for your help in ensuring we can provide the best possible coverage, online and in our printed products.
