Shop staff's robbery terror

STAFF were threatened with a metal bar before robbers made off with £500 in cash from a convenience store.

Staff at the Premier Supersaver Store on Whitehill Road, Brinsworth, were left shaken by the incident which unfolded shortly after 9pm on August 15.

Police have now issued an appeal for the raid’s distinctively dressed culprits.

Describing the incident, a police spokeswoman said: “Two men entered the store, threatened staff with what appears to be a metal bar and stole £500 in cash from the till.”

She added: “Descriptions of the offenders suggest these were older men, not teenagers or youths, and one was wearing a beige jacket.

“Both men were wearing hats with their faces covered and were seen to flee from the scene on foot.”

No-one was hurt during the incident and police have now released a CCTV still of the two men as they entered the store.
