Ashlea Lovell (43), owner of Ashlea’s designer babywear shop on Wembley Avenue, Conisbrough, organised the fun day event with her sister Michelle (31) to help Sheffield Hallamshire Hospital’s neurosurgery wing.

Surgeons there removed a cyst from Ashlea’s brain earlier this year — and she decided to mark the 14th anniversary of her shop by trying to help others.

On Saturday the shop featured attractions such as face painting, cup cakes and a discount sale, as well as a raffle offering prizes such as paintballing tickets, Sheffield United tickets, a watch, and meat vouchers.

So far, £805 has been raised from the event, with more cash still to come.

Ashlea added: “I am really grateful to everybody that turned up.

“We may look to do something else next year to raise funds.”
