Shaun Rooney back in Rotherham United frame

The Millers made a £200,000 bid for the 24-year-old defender several weeks ago but the Scottish Premiership side were asking for an extra £100,000.

Rotherham didn't submit another offer and have been checking out other right-backs ahead of their forthcoming League One campaign.

However, reports north of the border tonight suggested that St Johnstone are now prepared to do business at a lower figure and that the Millers are willing to come back to the negotiating table.

Talks between the two clubs are said to be ongoing.
