Share your clubland memories
Albion Road WMC - Picture supplied by David Stainroad

WE at the Advertiser are producing a special publication celebrating the rich history of South Yorkshire Clubland, which will be out later in the autumn.

We're printing memories from readers, “turns”, clubs officials, agents and club members of their experiences of the town’s social and working men's clubs since the 1960s.

We would love to include any nostalgic photos members of this group may have of club members having fun, as well as any of the clubs themselves or showing how people used to dress for a night out.

The picture above, supplied by David Stainrod of a night out at Albion Road WMC, is a great example of what we’re looking for.

All original copies of photos should be sent to Chaz Graves, Rotherham Advertiser, Brookfields Way, Manvers, Rotherham S63 5DL. They will be returned if a return name and address is included.

Alternatively, please email your pictures to

The fact you are here means you are interested in what goes on in your town.

We want to continue holding local authorities to account, attending court and council meetings, as well as providing breaking news, competitions and offers – but it costs money. Online advertising does not cover costs, therefore we feel the need to ask for your help in ensuring we can provide the best possible coverage, online and in our printed products.
For as little as £1, you can support the Rotherham Advertiser – and it only takes a minute.
