Second man charged in connection with South Anston armed robbery

A SECOND man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a post office in South Anston on Sunday (14).

Callum John Edwards (25), of Plantation Court, Dinnington, has been charged on suspicion of robbery and has been remanded to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday), a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

He has also been charged with three separate counts of burglary and two counts of failing to appear at court, she added.

Tomas Marcin Taszewski (32), of Lordens Hill, Dinnington, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court yesterday (Tuesday) charged with burglary.

He entered no plea and was remanded into custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on November 13.

Two other men arrested on suspicion of robbery have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are still appealing for information about Sunday's robbery, which happened at 4.25pm.

It is believed that two suspects entered the premises before demanding money with what has been described as a handgun. They made off with a small amount of cash.
