Schoolboys (11) taken to hospital after scooter crash

TWO schoolboys were taken to hospital after the scooter they were riding was in collision with a van.

Emergency services were called to Park Vale Drive, Thrybergh, at around 3.05pm on Thursday after  a white Volkswagen Transporter and a white electric scooter were involved in a collision.

The road was closed at the junction with West Vale Grove for some time.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Two 11-year-old boys, who were riding the scooter, were taken to hospital one with minor injuries and one with serious injuries.”
