School run boosts charity

KIDS at a Wath school boosted a charity and their own fitness with a run around school grounds.

Pupils at Wath Central Primary raised £1,500 for Age UK by taking part in veteran marathon runner Ray Matthews’ 80-80-80 fundraiser.

The campaign – launched to mark Ray’s 80th birthday is encouraging children from at least 80 schools to run at least 80 miles, in line with the fitness enthuiast’s Run a Mile a Day initiative, with each school looking to raise at least £80 in support of Age UK Rotherham.
