School laptop burglar jailed

A BURGLAR who stole laptops from a school and a construction firm has been jailed for six-and-a-half months.

Daniel Howson (26), of Winfield Road, Wath, broke into Saint Pius Catholic High School in April and stole a Hewlett Packard laptop, two mobile phones and £20 in cash.

He pleaded guilty to the Wath burglary at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday (6) and was sentenced to 28 weeks in prison.

Howson also admitted breaching a community order imposed in February which he received for breaking into construction firm Eurovia Contracting and stealing a laptop worth £1,400.

Magistrates jailed Howson for "his non-compliance with a court order and his criminal record".
