Scare at town centre bank this morning 'false alarm'

REPORTS of an intruder at a town centre bank this morning turned out to be a false alarm.

Police were called to Barclays Bank in Bridgegate at 9.10am after staff reported that the alarm indicated that it had been activated by an intruder.

"An officer searched the building but nobody was there, it was a false activation," said a police spokeswoman.
