A SALON owner is working on locks around the clock to help raise cash and awareness for a charity close to her heart.
Elizabeth Ventura, the owner of Love Hair & Beauty in Far Lane, East Dene, is holding a 24-hour pampering session which will involve colouring, cutting, styling, nails and makeup through the day and night.
The event starts at 9am tomorrow morning.
Elizabeth said: “Every penny that would have gone through my till, I will be donating to the charities Breast Cancer Research UK and Cancer research UK.
“For the six weeks running up to the event, to raise more money, we have had sales of bottle bag raffle, tombola, handmade flower ladies, balloon models, silent online auction, hair and beauty goodie bags.
“Raffle ticket sales have been in full force with an amazing 60-plus prizes in a mega raffle.
“All raffle prizes have been donated by local businesses, friends, family and clients. The support has been overwhelming.”
Elizabeth said she hoped the event would encourage more women to check their breasts and look after their own health.
“Our aim is to not only raise money for research but to raise as much awareness about the importance for ladies to check themselves for changes to their breast to insure early diagnosis,” she said.
