MOUNTAIN rescue teams joined the search for missing pensioner Barry Jones as fears mount for his safety.

Teams from Edale Mountain Rescue carried out searches in Woodhouse Mill, Sheffield, on Saturday, on land near the River Rother.

Mr Jones (77), of Aston, has not been since getting off a bus at Woodhouse Mill at around 12.50pm on Tuesday.

Firefighters and dogs from Search and Rescue Dogs Association also helped with the search but a South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said he was still missing.

Mr Jones was wearing blue jeans, a thermal vest and a green coat with a leather collar.

He is described as being around 5ft 8ins tall, of a slim build, with a shaved head.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 628 of February 28.
