Rubbish and wheelie bin set alight in arson attacks

FIREFIGHTERS from Rotherham station were called to two arson attacks last night (Thursday).

The crew was called to a deliberate rubbish fire on Marsh Street, Thornhill, at 7.45pm and left the scene at 8.05pm, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

The crew was called to a wheelie bin which was deliberately set alight on Wortley Road, Kimberworth, at 8.35pm, and left the scene at 8.55pm, the spokesperson added.

They also attended an accidental rubbish fire on The Lanes, East Dene, at 1.20am and tackled the blaze for 20 minutes, the spokesperson said.
