Rubbish and two cars set alight in Goldthorpe and Sprotbrough

RUBBISH and two cars were deliberately set on fire in Goldthorpe and Sprotbrough overnight.

Firefighters from Dearne station were called to a rubbish fire on Doncaster Road, Goldthorpe at 8.30pm last night and left the scene after 25 minutes.

A crew from Edlington station attended a car fire on Cotswold Drive, Sprotbrough at 5.20am this morning.

The fire had spread to a garage and set a second car alight, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, and the fire crew left the area at 6.30am.

Both fire incidents were said to had been started deliberately, the spokeswoman added.
