Scott Crowley (29), of Victoria Street, Maltby, pleaded guilty at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday (24) to criminal damage.

The court heard Crowley went to The Joker pub on Blackthorn Avenue in May despite being banned from the premises for a previous incident.

Mr Mark Hughes, prosecuting, said: “He grabbed hold of a monitor, causing damage to it, and the landlord says he has been quoted £200 to replace it.”

The pub’s landlord said in a statement read out in court that Crowley was a “rowdy individual” who was often “laughing and smiling while carrying out aggressive acts which tells me he doesn’t take them very seriously”.

Crowley chose not to comment when he was interviewed by the police, Mr Hughes said.

He has previous convictions for robbery, burglary and failing to complete a community order.

Crowley, who represented himself, said: “I just want this really out of the way so I can start back at work.

“I work as a renderer.”

Chairman of the bench, Mr Stephen Bellamy, fined Crowley £266 and ordered him to pay £200 compensation to the pub and £85 costs.
