Rotherham’s Great Tesco Walk brings in charity cash
A dozen employees from the Rotherham Town Centre store walked 10km back from Sheffield on Tuesday (19).
The 2,400km relay walk is being done over 51 legs until early October to raise money for Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.

Hide AdCarol Sherratt, Tesco Rotherham community champion, said: “All the stores across the country were invited to take part and we did the stretch from the store on Savile Street in Sheffield back to ours.
“We were joined by some from stores in Manchester, although some people thought it was more of a race than a walk.
“They had all prepared for it, where we were just there for the fun and to raise funds. We did have fun but it’s not easy with my little legs!”
It would be a couple of weeks before they knew their fundraising total, added Carol.
