Rotherham United to face Port Vale in EFL Trophy

ROTHERHAM United's reward for topping their group in the EFL Trophy is a home clash with League Two pace-setters Port Vale in the first knockout stage.

The League One Millers were guaranteed a tie at AESSEAL New York Stadium after emphatic victories over Doncaster Rovers, Scunthorpe United and Manchester City Under-21s had seen them win Group E by three points.

They were paired with Vale in this afternoon's regionalised draw which was was televised on Sky Sports.

The 'round of 32' match will be played in the week commencing November 29.

Vale finished runners-up in Group D behind Bolton Wanderers.

Rotherham old boy Jamie Proctor joined them in the summer and the striker faces a race to be fit for the clash after undergoing hernia surgery.

Another former Miller, winger David Worrall, is also in their ranks.
