The 22-year-old centre-half made 24 Championship appearances for the Terriers last term and played in the 0-0 draw with the Millers at the John Smith's Stadium in April.

His arrival comes after the capture of midfielder Hakeem Odoffin on a three-year contract from Hamilton Academical.

Both players are in contention for a place in Paul Warne's squad on Saturday as Rotherham kick off their League One campaign against Plymouth Argyle at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The Millers needed another central defender as Angus MacDonald and Curtis Tilt are both sidelined and Michael Ihiekwe has picked up a quad injury.

Peckham-born Edmonds-Green, who joined Huddersfield on his 17th birthday, spent time on loan at Swindon Town in the 2019/20 season when he was a teammate of Rotherham old boy Jerry Yates.

A third new arrival is believed to be close to being a announced.
