Rotherham United injury fear over skipper Richard Wood

CAPTAIN Richard Wood is a fitness concern for Rotherham United as they look to put a shock home defeat behind them at Lincoln City on Tuesday night.

The centre-half had to come off in the second half of yesterday's 4-2 loss to Fleetwood Town that left the Millers 13th in League One.

He will be assessed tomorrow at the club's training ground before a decision is taken on his availability.

"He has a calf issue," said manager Paul Warne who described the display against Town as his team's worst of the season.

"He said he was tightening right up. That was a substitution that I didn't want to make but had to."

A boost for Rotherham, who led 2-1 at the break against Simon Grayson' side and would have moved into the top six had they won, is that international winger Shane Ferguson should return to the squad at Sincil Bank.

He missed yesterday's clash after nursing a niggle during his time away with Northern Ireland over the last fortnight.

"Shane has come back a little bit sore in the foot," Warne said. "We hope that by resting it will give him time to play a bigger part on Tuesday.

"What I didn't want to do was start a player who had to come off after 20 minutes. We have got good depth in the squad. We should have had enough to cope against Fleetwood but unfortunately not.

"I think I know what went wrong. We will have a look whether we need to shake the pack for Tuesday night. The next two games (Lincoln and Bolton Wanderers away), we are playing two very good teams."
