Rotherham United close in on loan signing

The Millers have talked to the target and his parent side and expect the move to be finalised before the close of the January transfer window on Monday at 11pm.

"The player wants to come, the club are happy for him to come," manager Paul Warne said. "I am confident of getting that player in."

The manager, who virtually confirmed earlier today that Rotherham are set to announce the permanent signing of Irish striker Georgie Kelly, revealed the loan arrival will be someone who does their best work in the final third of the pitch.

Warne has had personal contact with him and says only minor financial details have still to be sorted before the deal until the end of the season goes ahead.

"With the parent club's permission, I spoke to the player, " Warned said. "I was as charming as ever so that's not a problem!"
