Accrington's Harry Pell was waiting to take late penalty when the duo ran out of the North Stand on Saturday February 5.

One of them kicked the ball away and jumped into the visiting player before both were apprehended by stewards and led away.

Rotherham, who identified and then sanctioned the culprits with the help of South Yorkshire Police, said in a statement issued this morning: "The club operate a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to anti-social behaviour of any kind and entering the field of play is a criminal offence.

"We were incredibly disappointed with the behaviour of the individuals who we absolutely believe do not represent the majority of our fan base.

"With this in mind, both have been handed three-year football banning orders and have also paid fines and a victim surcharge, as well as covering the costs associated with the legal proceedings."

The Millers were leading 1-0 at the time of the 89th-minute incident and went on to win by that scoreline after Pell's spot-kick was saved.
