The Millers

Formation: 3-5-2

Viktor Johansson: 7

The Viking in commanding form. Made a couple of key saves and was sound in every area of his game.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green: 8

Solid, alert, mobile and capped everything with a vital goal.

Richard Wood: 8

There was one occasion when Wood was shaping to hit a 50:50 with Mark Sykes in mighty style. Sykes took evasive action. He smiled, Wood smiled. They both knew. A game where the captain was taking no prisoners.

Michael Ihiekwe: 7

Some decent moments, some moments in possession when he lacked a bit of calm. The good far outweighed the bad.

Wes Harding: 7

Up and down the right flank to good effect. Never far away from the ball. His versatility has served his side well this season.

Ben Wiles: 8

Drove hard and regularly at Oxford after the break. His standards have rarely slipped all season. Knows he should have scored though!

Dan Barlaser: 7

Unlucky with the own goal and made up for it with a trademark well-struck penalty. Not vintage Dan but a better Dan than he has been for the last few matches.

Ollie Rathbone: 9

Good in the first half - we'll forgive him a few misplaced passes - and unbelievable in the second. Probed, pressed and ran his heart out. What an engine, what a way to bring up your half-century of appearances for the club.

Jordi Osei-Tutu: 7

Went past players for fun. Just needed a bit more end product.

Chiedozie Ogbene: 8

Enjoyed himself down the middle where he was a regular threat. The way he won the penalty was Chieo at his best: a refusal to give up, blinding pace, neat skill and a desire to get into the box.

Michael Smith: 8

Boy, did the Oxford defenders know they'd been in a game. Smith bossed them in the second half. Good hold-up play ... check. Won his headers ... check. Ran the channels ... check. A big effort from the big man.

Opposition view

“I’m just feeling numb, I feel like we’ve let people down. The players have been brilliant. They’ve given me everything week in, week out. They’re in tears in there.

“We’re always the bridesmaids in some ways. That has to change.

“We were good in the first half, but suddenly gave too many free-kicks away.

“I am sick. It's a sick moment and one that I am struggling with.

“We have accumulated 75 points yet with a game to go we have nothing to play for other than pride.

“The players’ effort was there for all to see. We’re just gutted.”

- U's boss Karl Robinson

Hopefully the last home game. A great manner in which to sign off if it was.
