Rotherham Tram Train remains suspended as dive team inspects bridge structure

A DIVE team is due to inspect the tram bridge over the River Don for damage before services to Rotherham and Parkgate can resume.

Stagecoach Supertram suspended all Tram Train services at the weekend due to flooding and the service remained suspended while water levels at the River Don at Tinsley were high.

The company said in a Tweet that divers would be inspecting the tram bridge at Tinsley today (Wednesday) to make sure no damage had been caused to the underwater structure.

It said it hoped to resume normal service today, following the inspection.

All Tram Train services remain suspended, while Yellow route services are starting and terminating at Tinsley/Meadowhall South.

Tram tickets are valid on First buses between Meadowhall and Rotherham, on Stagecoach buses between Rotherham and Parkgate and on Northern Rail services between Rotherham Central and Meadowhall.
