Rotherham school girl escapes attempted abduction

The girl, understood to be a Wickersley School student, was reportedly walking in Bramley at 1pm last Thursday when she was followed by a man in a silver car, believed to be a Ford Focus.

It was said that the man had “shouted” and “screamed” at the pupil to get in the car, which she resisted.

He continued to follow her towards the former Elton Hotel before eventually driving off.

Police confirmed the girl was safe and had arrived home safely but said they were continuing with their investigation.
