Rotherham Round Table’s “90th birthday” invite for old boys

FELLOWSHIP organisation Rotherham Round Table is set to celebrate a milestone anniversary — and is calling on past members to get in touch.

Next week, the fundraising group will its 90th “charter night” with a special evening featuring guest speakers Richard Holland, President of the National Association of Round Tables, and Rotherham United manager and assistant manager Paul Warne and Richie Barker.

The special evening will take place on 20th February, All proceeds from the event at Sitwell Golf Club next Wednesday, February 20, will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Rotherham Round Table chairman Matthew Ridsdale said: “Charter night marks the date which the charter for the organisation was granted — effectively it’s Rotherham Round Table’s 90th birthday and we’re hoping to welcome back past members of the organisation to join us to mark this special milestone anniversary.”

Founded in 1929, Rotherham Round Table is one of the oldest associations in the country and was formed just two years after the first Round Table club.
