Rotherham pensioner arrested in Thailand charged with historical CSE

AN 80-year-old from Rotherham arrested in Thailand has been charged with historical child sex offences.

Norman Lunt, of no fixed abode, was held in Pattaya in August under an extradition warrant issued by South Yorkshire Police.

He was brought back to the UK last month and charged yesterday (Tuesday) with 16 offences comprising five counts of rape of a female under 16, nine counts of indecent assault of a female aged under 16, and two counts of gross indecency with a child under 14.

The offences are alleged to have taken place against two girls in Sheffield between 1995 and 2003.

Lunt appeared Hull Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday) and was remanded in custody.
