Rotherham pays tribute to D-Day heroes

WREATH-laying services were held across Rotherham to mark the anniversary of D-Day today.

The Maltby branch of The Royal British Legion led a service at Maltby to commemorate 75 years since the historic landings in Normandy, while the Rawmarsh and Parkgate branch paid its own tribute at Rotherham Cemetery (above).

In Bramley, members of the community and children from Bramley Sunnyside Junior School council gathered to pay their respects at the village war memorial, where pupils gave readings and the Last Post was sounded.
