Rotherham murder victim named as investigation continues

THE man found murdered in a Rotherham flat earlier this week has been named by police as Michael Ian Hancock.

Mr Hancock (43), known to family and friends as Mick, was discovered on Badsley Moor Lane on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called at 12.05am and two men — aged 19 and 23 — and a 30-year old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder.

They have since been released under investigation.

Further tests were ordered to determine the cause of death after a postmortem proved inconclusive.

Anyone with information about what happened is urged to call 101 quoting incident six of August 29.
