Rotherham man charged with sexual assault on woman in her 70s
A MAN is due to appear in court this morning in connection with a sexual assault on a woman aged in her 70s.
Monjur Khan (31) of Doncaster Road, Rotherham, has been charged with attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle with intent, sexual assault and trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence.
Police were called to Clifton Bank in the Wellgate area of Rotherham on Saturday at 1.29pm after reports that a woman aged in her 70s had been the victim of a sexual assault.
Khan has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates' Court today.
