Rotherham killer faces sentence for stabbing partner

A MAN suffering from mental illness who admitted killing his long-term partner will be sentenced today.

Gordon White (46), denied murdering Cheryl Ann Martin (44), but pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

He will be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court after an assessment of his mental health.

Ms Martin died from multiple stab wounds at the couple's home on Stag Lane in Broom last October.

Shortly after White was charged with the murder of Ms Martin.
