THE number of patients with Covid-19 treated at Rotherham Hospital since the start of the pandemic has passed 3,000 — with more than 70 in hospital this week.
A hospital trust spokesperson said yesterday that there were 74 patients who had tested positive currently being treated at the Moorgate site, with three of them in critical care.
The overall inpatient number was down by two from last week and the critical care figure had halved.
The latest cases bring the total number of inpatients who have tested positive since the start of the pandemic to 3,024, of whom 634 have died.
Rotherham’s weekly infection rate was up by three per cent in the latest available figures (up to August 27) to 421 cases per 100,000 people — the 25th highest rate in England.
