Rotherham diesel thefts soar

Officers have issued a warning to the public after a spate of similar offences occurred throughout Masborough and Greasbrough.

Police in Rotherham are working closely with businesses to upgrade their security systems in light of the incidents.

Det Insp John Hobson said: “I would urge all business owners with premises on which diesel is stored to ensure all their security equipment is maintained and in full working order.

“Numerous premises have already been visited by technical officers and security installations have been implemented.”

Anyone with information regarding the theft of diesel is being urged to contact police by dialling 101.
