AN investigation is underway after a cyclist was threatened at knife-point and had his bike stolen.

The victim, who is in his 40s and from Rotherham, was cycling along the Trans Pennine Trail near to Wincobank railway bridge at around 7.40pm on Thursday (12) when he was threatened by two unknown men.

The pair stole the man's bike and it was reported that one of the offenders was carrying a knife, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Police.

Officers are asking anyone who has any information to contact them on 101, quoting crime reference number 14/139527/19.
