Rotherham Council cuts rents by one per cent - but other costs rise

COUNCIL rents will fall one per cent again this year, in line with a Government requirement.

From 2020, housing associations will be allowed to increase the amount by inflation plus one per cent each year.

Meanwhile, Rotherham Borough Council’s charges for garages and communal, cooking and laundry facilities will rise by 2.4 per cent, in line with inflation. 

District heating charges will remain at the level agreed in December 2017.
