Rotherham Council Cabinet to be dissolved over grooming scandal
ROTHERHAM Borough Council’s Cabinet will be dissolved and international travel banned following the shocking child sex abuse report.
Newly-elected council leader Cllr Paul Lakin said £120,000 would be spent on a new fund for counselling services for victims.
He said this would be funded by scrapping future overseas trips and cutting Cabinet posts by two.
This afternoon’s full council meeting also saw the announcement of an “independently-chaired improvement board”, to be set up by the Local Government Association.
