Rotherham cannabis dealer jailed after tip-off

Officers found Karl Disney (46) had been growing more than 50 cannabis plants inside a lock-up at Parkgate.

PC Grahame Ackroyd, from Wentworth South Safer Neighbourhood Team had received a tip-off and applied for a warrant to search the lock-up, where he discovered the set up.

He said: “We are extremely pleased with the result as the long sentence sends a message to anyone who is considering conducting this type of crime.

“We will continue to be proactive in targeting anyone involved in this type of criminality.”

Disney, of Chadwick Road in Woodthorpe, Sheffield, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court last Tuesday to 49 months in prison

He added: “We are often reliant on information from members of the public and will continue to act upon good intelligence.

“Therefore we encourage the public to contact ourselves or Crimestoppers if they have information of any other similar offences.”
