Rotherham buildings up for top awards

AN ECO-friendly housing development and a 180-seat fish and chip restaurant are among new buildings in Rotherham that have been nominated for prestigious building awards.

Whitby’s, the new restaurant at Catcliffe, the eco-friendly Whitehill Willow housing development at Brinsworth and a new self-build, three-storey house set in a conservation area have all been nominated for the South Yorkshire and Humber Building Control Building Excellence Awards.

Each was nominated for the awards by the Building Control department of Rotherham Borough Council and will find out if they have been successful at an award evening, in Scunthorpe, on April 19.
