Rotherham artists work gets exhibited

FOR one night only the work of a Rotherham artist will be featured in an exhibition.

The art of Leslie Beckett will be on show from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Monday, December 14, at Thomas Rotherham College.

Mr Beckett (96), is the former deputy head teacher of Wickersley School and attended Rotherham Grammar School, which is now the site of the college.

The exhibition will open with a formal presentation to the College Corporation of Mr Beckett's new portrait of Archbishop Thomas Rotherham which hangs above the college's study area, formerly the main hall of the grammar school.
