Rotherham Advertiser Wedding Fair – Wentworth Woodhouse

HUNDREDS of happy couples visited Wentworth Woodhouse for the annual Rotherham Advertiser Wedding Fair.

More than 50 exhibitors were spread over five rooms in the stunning venue, showcasing their expert bridal services, from cars and cakes to flowers, venue decoration and wedding planning.

There was a wide array of entertainment during the day including a string quartet, bagpipes and a 1940s-style wedding singer.

Two 40-minute fashion shows took place featuring wedding dresses and mother-of-the-bride outfits from Blessed Brides, of Denaby.

Flower girl outfits from Little Blessings, of Denaby, were modelled by 12 girls from the  Nicola McMahon School of Ballet and Theatre Dance, of Swinton, who also choreographed the show.

Models make-up was done by Abbey Clayton MUA, hair was styled by Stevie Alexander, of Cuts & Co Bridal, and Special Occasion Hair and floral headpieces were created by Donna Epton, of The Blossom Tree, based in Harlington.

Proceeds from the 5 entrance fee went towards the restoration of Wentworth Woodhouse, while a collection of 160 was raised for Cancer Research UK.

Event organiser Tracie Midgley said "This was our second wedding fair to be staged at Wentworth Woodhouse and we were again delighted with the number of visiting brides-to-be".

"I would like to say a big thank you to all our exhibitors who supported the event and all the visiting public who seemed to really enjoy the day".

"We would also like to thank Keith Harper of Event Lighting Solutions, of Wakefield, who did a fantastic job of  lighting all seven of the rooms used for the event, while Starlight Productions added a touch of glamour to the room with a huge twinkly backdrop and the sparkly red carpet from Daykin Designs which added that perfect finish to the room".

Videographer Andy Bernard of Video and Memories, said "This was by far the best wedding fair I have attended yet".

"Its crazy how far in advance people are now planning their weddings  most enquiries were for dates in 2016 and beyond".

David Rowley, of Mount Pleasant Hotel, Bawtry, said "Wentworth Woodhouse is an ideal setting for a wedding fair  we were all blown away by the breathtaking venue and the elegant charm of the Marble Saloon".
