Roots musicians bring blues to Barnsley

TWO globe-trotting roots musicians will bring the blues to Barnsley this Saturday.

Martin Harley is an English roots and blues guitarist and singer-songwriter, with a growing global rep.

He will be joined by bassist Daniel Kimbro, who produced Harley’s last record in his home city of Nashville, Tennessee.

The duo’s live shows blend blues, Americana and folk — Martin on a 100-year-old Hawaiian lap guitar, Daniel on double bass.

Last year they played shows and festival in Canada, the United States and Europe.

March 11 will see them stop off The Civic, Barnsley on a busy British tour.

BBC Radio 2’s Johnnie Walker has described the pair as “awesome”, while Time Out London dubbed them “quite simply a great live act”.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £13.50 each — for more information and to book, visit www.barnsleycivic.co.uk or call 01226 327000.
