Ronnie Moore axed for betting rules breach

EX-Miller Ronnie Moore has been sacked as manager of Tranmere Rovers over football betting rules breaches.

The 61-year-old was suspended by the club in February before admitting the FA charges yesterday.

Tranmere football operations director Mick Horton said: “Tranmere Rovers will not tolerate any action that damages the integrity of this Football Club.

“Any staff members found to be guilty of misconduct will face severe action.”

Moore broke rule E8(b), which states that players and staff cannot bet on competitions they are involved in that season.
