CHILDREN enjoyed an out-of-this-world adventure after The Rhyme Rocket landed in their playground.

Meadow View Primary School pupils received a visit from First Officer Ditty (Joe Chambers) and Professor Poet (Andrew Crawford) from the CBeebies show Rhyme Rocket.

Staff said the children had thoroughly enjoyed the comic approach to rhyming and left the hall laughing.

Meadow View Primary School was one of only a handful of schools in South Yorkshire selected to for a Rhyme Rocket show.

Assistant head teacher Jenni Logan said: “At Meadow View Primary, we are passionate about bringing learning to life, providing the children with a love for learning and offering the children a wide range of experiences.

“Rhyme and songs are great ways to boost children’s early reading skills and phonic awareness and so the visit was hugely welcomed.

“The actors left the school saying that Meadow View had been a great audience and that they would be in touch should there be another opportunity for them to appear.”
