Roadworks to cause four months of disruption

ROADWORKS are set to trigger 16 weeks of disruption on one of the borough’s main routes due to work to improve an ageing commercial gas supply.

The installation of a gas main along the A630 Doncaster Road, between Park Lane and Carr Lane, Thrybergh, has been commissioned by Tata Steel and will see traffic managed by a two-way traffic light system from August 5.

Temporary side road closures at Park Lane, Back Lane and School Lane will also be triggered by the works.

Tata Steel commissioned the new pipeline to replace the ageing original, known as the DOGSTAR pipeline, because much of the old route is no longer accessible.
