Road to confusion: Thybergh signs’ mixed message for motorists

ROAD users were baffled when a road into Thrybergh appeared to offer two speed limit options.

Village campaigner Michael Sylvester said: “It’s confusing. The one on the left indicates 30mph but the right shows the national speed limit.

“A driver travelling into Thrybergh observing just the right hand sign would not be aware of the speed limit change and there is at least the possibility of confusion.”

The council said the sign on the right had been twisted from its original position but officials visited Thrybergh Lane on Tuesday to fix it after being contacted by the Advertiser.
