POLICE closed one of the main routes into the town following a collision involving a car and a skip lorry.

The collision happened at around 8.30am this morning on Warren Vale Road, Rawmarsh, between the Kilnhurst roundabout and the road's junction with Old Warren Vale.

A police spokesman said: "It was reported to police that a skip lorry had collided with a car, a grey Mazda. The skip lorry is thought to be badly damaged and a woman is reported to have been injured."
