Revealed: the result of the Great Rotherham Bin Vote

More than 5,000 people have voted for the new wheelie bin colour - and here's the result.

PINK is the new black...bin!

Thirty one per cent of more than 5,000 voters went pink in our poll to decide the colour of Rotherham’s new general waste wheelies.

Purple was second (28 per cent), followed by blue (22) and orange (19).

The general waste bin will begin arriving at all 116,000 households across the borough later this year, under the council’s new rubbish collection scheme.

It will be a quarter smaller than the current black bin at 180 litres.

Your current black and green bins will be retained for paper, card, glass, metal and plastic
