Record year for flu jabs in Rotherham

Ian Atkinson, executive place director for the Rotherham NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “We’ve had a really successful flu campaign for 2020/21 and this is the biggest uptake we’ve had in Rotherham.

“We saw a total of 84 per cent of people aged 65 and over have the flu vaccination between 2020/21 in Rotherham, a ten per cent increase compared to last year’s total.”

He added: “We’re really happy with how flu vaccinations have gone this time around and we have seen a low flu prevalence both nationally and locally.

“I am hoping we can now keep this good momentum going with vaccinations for future years to come.”
