Real ale fans vote The Bluecoat top pub

TOWN centre alehouse The Bluecoat has been declared top of the pubs.

The Wetherspoons venue on The Crofts won first place in the Pub of the Season winter 2022 competition, as voted for by branch members of Rotherham CAMRA.

Pub manager Adam Gill said staff were “delighted” with the accolade, adding: “It is lovely that the team has been recognised for their dedication and hard work.”

Rotherham CAMRA Branch pubs campaigns coordinator and vice chairman, Paul Redfern, said: “Each pub is assessed against a set of criteria, which include atmosphere, décor, hygiene, service and welcome, community focus, value, sympathy with CAMRA aims and above all the quality of the real ale and real cider.

“The Bluecoat has consistently served quality real ales since it opened and is a deserving recipient of the award.”
