Race for Life smashes target

THE organisers of this summer's Race for Life in Rotherham are delighted that the event smashed its target.

The Cancer Research UK fund-raiser, held at Herringthorpe playing fields on July 5, has so far brought in £151,585 for the charity—well exceeding the £130,000 target and closing in on what was raised last year, when there were two races compared with one this year.

So far the total for both 2008 and 2009 is £323,318—and anyone who has not yet sent in their sponsorship money is urged to do so.
