Rabbit hunter dies as 4x4 crashes in field

A MAN was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a 4x4 passenger died after a late crash in a field.

Ross Staples (25), of Gildingwells, died days before the birth of his first son last weekend.

He suffered serious injuries when a Subaru Forester crashed at Styrrup, near Doncaster, in the early hours of the morning.

It is believed that Ross and three friends were hunting rabbits with dogs.

Ross attended Woodsetts Primary and Dinnington Comprehensive schools. He later worked at a welding and fabrics company in Dinnington.

A 22-year-old man from Worksop is on bail and two other men were released without charge.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned to a date to be fixed.
